JT strengthens leadership team with key Channel Islands appointments

JT has today announced the appointment of two senior leaders to its Channel Islands business, further strengthening its leadership team at a pivotal moment for the region’s digital future.

Clive Goodwin joins as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), while Ben Carter has been appointed Head of Enterprise. Together, they bring significant international experience and proven leadership across telecommunications, technology, and enterprise transformation.

These strategic appointments come as JT continues to invest in next-generation connectivity across the Channel Islands. Jersey now benefits from a full 5G standalone (5G SA) network, unlocking advanced capabilities for businesses and public services, while Guernsey’s rollout is underway and on track for completion before the end of the year.

Driving growth, innovation and customer value

Clive Goodwin brings a wealth of global commercial leadership experience, having held senior executive roles at Vodafone and BT. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President at Vodafone, where he led commercial strategy and operations across a global portfolio.

A seasoned leader with deep expertise in strategic partnerships, digital transformation and operational performance, Clive has consistently delivered sustainable growth and value creation across complex organisations. His experience spanning telecoms, digital infrastructure and AI-led innovation positions him strongly to support JT’s evolving commercial strategy and deepen relationships with customers, partners and government stakeholders.

Ben Carter joins JT with over 20 years’ experience in enterprise technology and telecommunications, including senior roles at AT&T, Vodafone and most recently Specialist Computer Centre (SCC).

A highly accomplished enterprise sales leader, Ben has a strong track record of driving growth, transforming sales organisations and building strategic customer partnerships. He has successfully delivered large-scale commercial turnarounds and led high-performing teams across critical infrastructure sectors, helping organisations harness technologies such as 5G, cloud and IoT to achieve their goals.

Supporting the Channel Islands’ digital future

Together, Clive and Ben will play a key role in accelerating JT’s strategic priorities – enhancing customer experience, strengthening government engagement, and supporting the development of innovative, digitally-enabled solutions for businesses and communities across the islands.

Their combined expertise comes at a time of significant opportunity, as 5G standalone technology enables new user cases across industries – from smart infrastructure and digital healthcare to advanced enterprise services and AI-driven applications.

A pivotal moment for JT

Commenting on the appointments, Andy Green CBE, Chair of JT, said: “We are delighted to welcome Clive and Ben to JT at such an exciting time for our business and the Channel Islands.

Jersey’s full 5G standalone network and the ongoing roll-out in Guernsey mark a step change in connectivity, opening up new possibilities for our customers, our government partners, and the wider community.

Clive’s strategic and commercial leadership, combined with Ben’s strong enterprise expertise, will be instrumental in helping us realise this opportunity – strengthening our position as a trusted partner and driving innovation across the islands.”

Clive Goodwin added: “JT is uniquely positioned to lead the next wave of digital innovation in the Channel Islands. I’m excited to join at a time when advanced network capabilities are creating real opportunities to deliver value for customers and communities.”

Ben Carter added: “This is a hugely exciting moment to join JT. The combination of cutting-edge infrastructure and strong local partnerships provides a powerful platform to support enterprise customers in transforming their operations and unlocking new growth.”

JT supports Les Amis with digital technology to enhance independent living support

JT has supported Les Amis with the donation of 10 tablet devices to strengthen its domiciliary services for individuals with learning disabilities who live independently across the Island.

The devices enable care staff to securely access and update digital care plans while out and about with service users, supporting more responsive, accurate and efficient care.

The tablets allow teams to view and update vital information in real time, including medication records, schedules, personalised care plans, activity logs and incident reporting. By reducing time spent on paperwork, staff are able to spend more time providing direct support – helping individuals with everyday tasks such as cooking, shopping, managing finances and building independent living and digital skills.

This improved digital access helps ensure that service users receive timely, consistent and person‑centred care, empowering them to live their lives as fully and independently as possible.

Shaun Findlay, Managing Director of Les Amis said:

“Our domiciliary services are all about supporting people to live independently and with confidence. Having access to digital care plans while our teams are in the community makes a real difference to the quality and consistency of support we can provide.

These tablets allow our staff to respond quickly, record information accurately and focus more of their time on meaningful interactions with the individuals we support. We’re very grateful to JT for understanding our needs and providing equipment that will have an immediate, positive impact.”

The donation reflects JT’s commitment to using technology as a tool for social good, supporting organisations that deliver essential services within the community.

Laura Belo, Head of Human Resources at JT said:

“Digital technology can play a powerful role in improving care outcomes when it’s used in the right way. By providing tablets directly to Les Amis, we’re helping their teams work more efficiently while keeping the focus firmly on supporting independence and wellbeing.

We’re proud to support an organisation that does such important work in the community and to help enable care that is more responsive, person‑centred and empowering.”

The tablets were donated through JT’s Community Giving scheme, which supports local charities and organisations to harness digital technology in ways that deliver meaningful and lasting community benefit.
